$40 for a 5K Mud-Run Package with Entry and a T-Shirt (Up to $80 Value)

On Saturday, November 9, runners tackle a mud-splattered 5K route starting at 8:30 a.m. The course boasts inverted climbing walls, mud trenches, balance beams, and other obstacles designed to challenge participants' agility and stamina. Runners can count on water along the course for drinking or using to wash the mud, sweat, and tears out of their complimentary T-shirt. After it's all over, the top three male and female finishers in each race receive awards.

Mud Dogs offers a $5 discount on race registration to military, police, and fire personnel.

Mud Dogs

The Mud Dogs 5K/10K series challenges both average runners and dedicated athletes with a classic combination of mud and obstacles. Mud Dogs courses are not for the faint of heart. Participants can expect to face all kinds of challenges, from vertical walls and rope swings to tunnels and net crawls. Racers are greeted at the finish line by soil-kissed faces of their fellow Mud Dogs, as well as the cool liquid embrace of wash-off stations.

The Groupon Guide to: Short-Story Topics

The hardest part of writing a short story is what to do with all the millions of dollars it will earn you, but the second hardest part is coming up with an idea for one. Here is a free list of ideas for short stories that we would be thrilled if anyone used:

  • While her husband is at work, a sad woman looks at a photograph of her sister on the beach.
  • Men come to blows over whose father was more distant.
  • It’s like a sheep or a mouse or something but it talks like a human would and has an iPhone. You don’t have to try very hard on this one.
  • A lady and a man are on a plane on their way to go hunting in Africa. They are married but they do NOT like each other.
  • A thinly veiled story from your life that follows no plot structure because that’s probably what you’re gonna write anyway.
  • What if horses rode humans around for work and sport? What then, huh?

What are some good ideas for short stories? Find out in today’s Groupon Guide.
