Choose Between Two Options

  • $17 for a kayaking or rowing class for one (a $35 value)
  • $35 for a kayaking or rowing class for two (a $70 value)

During Discover Kayaking classes, instructors spend 1.5 hours teaching paddlers (ages 8 and older) basic maneuvering techniques and safety rules. Classes take place Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Boathouse District or Route 66 Boathouse at Lake Overholser.

Alternatively, the 2-hour Discover Rowing class prepares students (ages 18 and older) for fun and safe outings on the water by covering basic rowing methods and general safety. After class, students can put their newfound knowledge to the test during a supervised rowing session. Classes take place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays in the Boathouse District and on Sundays at the Route 66 Boathouse.

OKC Riversport

The breadth activities at OKC Riversport is nearly as diverse as the natural terrain and wildlife that surround their locations. Adventure-seekers can test their mettle on the Air Express zipline and SandRidge Sky Trail, or explore the 13 miles of trails on a bike.

Like a cat equipped with scuba gear, OKC Riversport's visitors aren't relegated entirely to the land. Across Lake Overholser and the Oklahoma River, fleets of kayaks and standup paddleboards cut across the water. The sounds of drums fill the air as instructors teach students how to man the dragon boats—inspired by festive Chinese fishing vessels—or battle maritime knights. Pupils can discover a water sport for the first time or hone existing watercraft skills.
