Sip, Savor, Stomp
Spin a globe and let your finger land in a random place. Whether that landing spot is in Michigan, on either end of the country, or across the world, there's a good chance that Sip, Savor, and Stomp will have a wine from around there. On April 4, more than 150 wines—some from right down the street, others from far-flung corners of the globe—will help celebrate the arrival of spring at the Royal Oak Farmers Market. Attendees don't have to be wine experts, either, just people looking to enjoy wine in a more social setting than their dining room or hyperbaric chamber.
Between sips, the evening's guests can also savor artisan cheeses, chocolates, coffees, and wine-inspired foods provided by local restaurants. Live music keeps feet stomping throughout the night, and on-site sales ensure everyone can enjoy the tastes of the evening long after the final bottle is corked.
Royal Oak Taste Fest
Per its name, Royal Oak Taste Fest celebrates some of the best local cuisine as well as the chefs behind each food sample on offer. But that might be the only traditional thing about this event. The dishes here hail from the Middle East, Mexico, Italy, and just about everywhere in between. In some ways, it's a Taste of Everywhere—except Greenland, where people only ever eat ice.
The festival extends beyond food too, showcasing art from local retailers and crafters, as well as musicians whose live shows add the soundtrack to the day.
