Sewtime Sewing Center

In 1911, Leon Fells left Poland for the United States, where he established a business that sold and repaired sewing machines. One of his five children, Susie, started helping her father when she was 16 and eventually started her own business in 1976. Today, she owns Sewtime Sewing Center, whose two locations prep stitch-makers by doubling as both schools and boutiques. Carrying on Leon's tradition of quality customer service, she offers phone support for the machines she sells until 11 p.m. every day. Targeting students of many skill levels and ages, her classes tackle specific topics such as machine usage, quilting, and capturing rolls of fabric with a thread lasso. To bring their skills home, customers also can purchase fabric and sewing equipment—even sewing-machine software—at the center's store.

The Groupon Guide to: Being a Millionaire

Television has taught us that there is practically no limit to the luxury that possessing exactly one million dollars ($1,000,000) can bring. Once you have this exact amount of money, here are the things that you can and must buy:

  • A boat of any size—all boat sizes, like fast-food soft drinks, cost the same amount of money
  • A swimming pool full of gold coins, plus a regular swimming pool you can actually use and enjoy
  • One of those money quilts that rap sensations The Fresh Five wore as capes to the Grammy Awards this year
  • A valuable painting, like a painting of a diamond
  • A butler
  • A butlerer (butler for your butler)
  • A car so fast that driving it even briefly is guaranteed to ruin your life and the life of anyone who sees you
  • A star named after yourself—you’re worth it, baby

What are some things that every millionaire can and must purchase? Find out in today's Groupon Guide.
