In 60-minute classes, instructors take students from warm-ups and ballet-inspired stretches through cardio exercises and glute-sculpting ballet-barre work to develop dancer-like bodies. Using yoga and Pilates elements and with little or no equipment, barre classes focus on one specific muscle group at a time to improve core strength, posture, and alignment. They hold classes seven days a week, morning through evening.
By melding elements of yoga and Pilates with traditional ballet moves, Studio Barre aims to help students develop long, lean, dancer-like bodies without years of classical training or awkward interactions with giant nutcrackers. The instructors constantly refresh the routines to keep muscles guessing, ensuring posture continues to improve and the core, glutes, and thighs continue to tone and tighten as students attend more sessions. With instructors' clear demonstrations and hands-on corrections, students of every experience level get the most out of every class. Studio Barre also offers low-cost weekday child care during the 10:45 a.m. class.
