The New York International Fringe Festival

For the 18th straight year, The New York International Fringe Festival will do the impossible: bring even more theatre onto the island of Manhattan. North America's largest multi-arts festival attracts approximately 5,000 artists from around the globe, curating a diverse and thrilling lineup of performances. That roster has included more than a few future stars, including The Mindy Project's Mindy Kaling, whose co-written play Matt & Ben rocketed her into the spotlight thanks to her portrayal of Ben Affleck.

Selected Highlights

  • The Three Faces of Dr. Crippen: Strange Tree Group's "calamitously comedic" tale of an inept murderer first thrilled audiences at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre.
  • King of Kong: A Musical Parody: Inspired by the cult-hit documentary of the same name, Kong follows two men as they attempt to get the world's highest score in The Legend of Zelda.
  • The Warrior and The Princess: Perth's Blue Moose Theatre Productions tells the story of a meeting between a child refugee and a Japanese diplomat during World War II with puppetry and live music.
