Great Grapes Wine, Arts & Food Festival

More than 200 wines from more than 20 Maryland wineries flow freely into souvenir glasses, slaking thirsty throats with unlimited sips as guests nibble artisanal snacks at the Great Grapes Wine, Arts & Food Festival. A schedule of vivacious bands tunes up on the main stage and chefs perform demonstrations, adding pleasing smells and sounds to the overall atmosphere. As kids romp around a children's activity area, adults can learn about tasty wine and food pairings or explore the verdant grounds of Oregon Ridge Park.

Chesapeake Crab & Beer Festival

On Saturday, August 16, mugs will fill with unlimited tastes of beers by New Belgium Brewing Company, Goose Island, and an array of other breweries at the Chesapeake Crab & Beer Festival. For an additional fee, attendees can indulge in an all-you-care-to-taste menu that includes succulent Old Bay–seasoned crab, corn on the cob, coleslaw, and potato chips. A variety of other snacks will be available for purchase à la carte, and event staff dish out free watermelon slices throughout the day.

In the midst of all the dining and drinking, local and regional bands such as Laissez Foure and Junkyard Saints will entertain crowds with soulful tunes. In response to crowds at previous festivals, organizers have split the event into two sessions, allowing more room to breathe or perform gymnastics floor routines of gratitude.
