Denaé sells her handcrafted treasures from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays at the Market Square Farmers’ Market. They include a fine silver pendant, designed with the directions on a compass, which hangs from the Finding My Way necklace’s turquoise leather string ($50). Semiprecious stones drip form a bracelet of brown leather ($10). Fine silver charms designed with dragonflies or peace signs ($25+) and gemstone charms hold chunks of turquoise or rose quartz ($14 each).

After 15 years in retail and sales, Denaé Oglesby craved a creative outlet. It began with stained glass building. Eventually her artistic talent outgrew a single medium, and Denaé started handcrafting earthy jewelry for Design by Denaé. Among Denaé’s bohemian pieces are dangling fine silver earrings designed with butterflies, a dragonfly pendant hung from a necklace with semiprecious gems, and a leather bracelet threaded through handcrafted fine silver tiles, one carved with the Native American symbol for protection.
