A new zombie horde rises, hungry for the packs of humans that flee in a desperate fight to see another day. This isn't a vision of a postapocalyptic future—it happens every fall at the Zombie Run Challenge, an event in which participants dressed as zombies chase down human competitors in a race for both survival and top prizes. After registering, competitors separate into the two factions, each with separate goals. In the course of up to two hours, zombies attempt to turn humans by capturing the flags attached to their belts. The living, in turn, try to complete challenges at four–five checkpoints, taking momentary refuge or healing at outposts scattered throughout the woods. All the while, a group of volunteer mercenaries armed with foam darts hunts down the undead attackers. Before the race begins, the special-effects gurus at Gregory F/X will provide zombie makeup to participants in exchange for a donation—100% of which goes to charity and won't be used to buy the zombies fresh brains at the local deli.

Three Little Birds combines an astute eye for design with a socially responsible ethos in its collection of stationery, greeting cards, and other paper goods. Custom invitation designs begin at $3 per item, and include design creation, two proofs, and digital printing, complete with a response address on the envelope back. With no necessary minimum or oppressive increment requirements, party planners can order the exact number of invitations needed for their weddings, box socials, or bill-paying parties. Hosts can grace missives with an individual twist by upgrading to imported or shimmer paper, requesting printing styles from embossing to foil stamping, or embellishing with rhinestones, ribbons, or a live panther. Delight eyes and palates by ordering a Birdie Buffet dessert station for a wedding or a campaign-ending D&D night, starting at $3.50 per guest with available upgrades including favor boxes and premium candies. Corporate letterheads, logos, and stationery vary widely depending on need; contact Three Little Birds for a precise quote.

At FastFrame, highly trained framers enhance artwork, memorabilia, photographs, and other keepsakes with custom-crafted frames. Like a magic 8 ball's opinion on investment portfolios, the prices at FastFrame vary wildly, hinging on size and scope—many projects start at around $100. Accent mementos with a complementary wood or metal frame, or prevent precious fine art from escaping walls and joining traveling art shows. Framers can add mats to ensure a dramatic, polished presentation, and seal the back of frames to guard works from dust and debris. FastFrame safeguards client satisfaction with a 30-day design guarantee, allowing owners to return pieces if they can't play nicely with nearby light fixtures, in addition to a lifetime craftsmanship guarantee.

Customers can choose from hundreds of ready-made mats and frames that translate into thousands of frame permutations, or they can opt for a custom design clipped from the crafty corners of their own minds. All framing products are of the highest quality—barrier papers, dust covers, acid-free products, and five kinds of UV-resistant glasses combine to permanently preserve your masterful fingerpainting from fifth grade or your collection of two-dimensional cross-sections sliced out of the world’s skyscrapers. Prices vary widely depending on how the customer navigates the flowchart from frame size to final product, but most jerseys can be framed for less than $200, diplomas can be framed for as low as $75, and posters can be framed for under $100.
