Some nail techs draw dots and stripes on their clients' nails and call that art. Not so with Combs Salon's nail artist Dixie. The dots she draws might actually be the seeds on a slice of watermelon; the stripes the curving patterns on a monarch butterfly's wing.?She has even been known to decorate nails with My Little Pony characters, sports team logos, and comic book characters.
Dixie discovered her passion for pretty nails when she was a child and would paint her mom's nails. But she convinced herself that her dream was working with computers and making sure they didn't become sentient. As a result, she worked for a help desk for three years. While she manned the phones, she would paint her nails to pass the time. Dixie quickly realized that she needed to be in a more creative career, so she enrolled in beauty school and discovered her passion for beautiful nails.
