Tell us about your business.
I'm a well-known guitar teacher on the internet who provides lessons for people in Smyrna, Tennessee and all over the globe, using Skype and FaceTime video-conferencing platforms.
What makes your business stand out?
[I give] quality instruction, with 10 plus years of one-on-one [teaching] experience.
What inspired you (or the owner) to start or run this business?
I always wanted a music store growing up. After working for a music store, I realized that the real money is made in the servicing department. I'm very gifted on the guitar, and not every great guitarist has the communication edge and ability to teach. Some of my musical influences are Tommy Emmanuel, The Beatles, Eric Clapton, and John Mayer.
What is the best reaction you’ve ever gotten from a customer?
When [a student] says they can't, yet they do after a little coaching.
What’s your favorite part about your job?
Seeing people's lives enriched through learning music.
Founded and directed by esteemed actor and film producer Alan Dysert, best known as Sean Cudahy from All My Children, The Actor's School instructs trained thespians and prospective talent alike in the art of on-camera performance and navigating the entertainment industry. During the two-hour course, students learn to get comfortable in front of a camera, cultivating characters in a variety of mediums, such as films, soap operas, sitcoms, commercials, music videos, and stunt-double work for a Supreme Court justice. The small, unintimidating class size allows timid trainees to break out of their shells as they run lines from real TV scripts with friends, or improvise post-apocalyptic love scenes with strangers. The experienced instructors will share essential tips and tricks on how to find work in the industry. Peruse The Actor's School's alumni success stories to see where a newly honed craft may land you.
Nestled across 31 acres of scenic terrain, The Cave cuts radio-ready professional soundscapes with the assistance of 1,500-square-foot, 32-track recording facility and a lineup of talented in-house backup musicians. Artists can use up to 10 hours of studio time to record prized tracks, work through new ideas with Wild Oats' seasoned songsters, or prepare an audition disc for the 23rd annual Professional Tambourinists Convention. Though the finished product will depend on the goals and experience of each musician, well-prepared and focused artists may leave the studio with several fully mixed tracks in hand. Wild Oats accommodates solo performers or bands, but all group members must be able to fit in the space and keep time with a vuvuzela when required.

Christian Youth Theater helps nurture kids' artistic talents through theater arts classes and camps. Children between the ages of 4 and 18 glean tips from experienced teachers, such as how to safely perform slapstick stunts, design a set, and overcome their fear of auditions. To that end, the theater welcomes students to try out for its Broadway-style productions and to show off their skills in end-of-term showcases.
