For more than 20 years, pilot Rodney Williams has shuttled guests on breathtaking excursions into the clouds aboard the gently swaying baskets of Branson Balloon's hot-air-propelled vessels. As balloons rise slowly into the stratosphere, passengers can enjoy views of the trees, valleys, lakes, and Sasquatch dwellings of the Ozarks stretch out underfoot. After the sojourn into the skies, Rodney leads clients through a post-flight champagne toast and the Balloonist's Prayer—ceremonial pleasantries that have helped Rodney maintain a perfect safety record throughout his entire career as a pilot.
At Branson Boat Club, families and friends cast off into the waters of Table Rock Lake on leisurely personal retreats. Boaters bring family members along for a 90-minute orientation in which Branson Boat Club's harbormaster imparts hands-on boating-safety instruction and raps about his favorite episodes of Gilligan's Island. Afterward, families set sail aboard their choice of the club's six boats. Plumb the lake depths for fish in the 22' Fish Series pontoon boat with two fishing seats and a 9' canopy, or kick back on the 22' Cruise Model Relax pontoon boat with a canopy, stereo system, and CD player. Boaters must pay for their own gas (around $30–$75) and bring along their own wisecracking parrot navigator.
The moss-colored fishing pond at Mountain Springs Trout Park is always rippling. Sometimes, the minor currents that wrinkle its surface come from the underwater movements of shimmering fins. Other times, they're from the line of a child excited to have felt a fish's pull. An armory of fishing poles, lines, hooks, nets, and bait saves visitors the trouble of buying their own gear or climbing the mountains that worms live on top of. Nearby, the staff cleans and fillet the fish, scraping away their rose and emerald scales and packing the fish on ice to be fried, baked, or broiled at a later date.
In addition to rifle and pistol ranges, the facility has several areas for clay shooting, including sporting clays, trap, skeet, wobble trap, and five-stand. This range is the site of the 2013 Missouri State Sporting Clays Championship.
Clients can rent shotguns or purchase new and used handguns and long guns.
The staff at Ozark Shooters Sports Complex turns clay shooting into a special occasion. It hosts regular events, including couples' nights, ladies' nights, and a monthly cowboy-themed shoot. The surrounding woods creates an ideal setting for various types of clay shooting, and the furnished clubhouse gives visitors a place to relax. Ozark's experienced instructors also teach shotgun and handgun classes for individuals and groups.
Kick'n Paintball Park's staffers organize games at hyperball, airball, and concept fields—including an indoor facility that stays open year round. At the start of each game, these spaces transform into simulated battlefields where acrylic paintballs rain down like pennies on Abraham Lincoln's birthday. Players dash across the indoor turf or outdoor grassy terrain, taking refuge behind towering pipes or red-and-blue inflatables. As the last paintball falls, players depart the field guilt-free as Kick'n Paintball Park uses 100% biodegradable paints. Away from the fields, staffers repair gear and sell new equipment within a pro shop. Paintball markers line the walls, and shelves hold ample supplies of carbon dioxide.
