Boasting baking savvy showcased in magazines and on Food Network's Cupcake Wars, Ivey Childers devises decadent confections in more than 20 playfully named flavors. Each miniature morsel is baked from scratch daily, then adorned with a balanced dose of creamy frosting before taking its place amid the shop's Victorian-inspired décor. Customers can savor the pillowy sweetness of Big Dreams, a strawberry cupcake crowned in cream-cheese icing whose recipe came to the owner in her sleep. Or they can dive into the rich custard center of the Boss cupcake, which infiltrates French dessert armies with an éclair-frosting disguise. The Good Kisser tops the ganache-covered goodness of chocolate cake with the zest of mint buttercream frosting and Andes mint pieces, merging light and dark sides more sweetly than Jekyll and Hyde’s grandma.

What do you get for the recent Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame inductee who has everything? Well, if you're the daughter of Brenda Lee, you start by setting up a meeting with Priscilla Romans. The confectionary architect behind Cakes by Priscilla sat down with Ms. Lee's daughter to get to know Brenda. After intense brainstorming, Priscilla drew up the blueprints for a 2.5-foot Christmas-tree cake that rested on the foundation of Brenda Lee's holiday hit, "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree."

Whether there's a star encounter on the line or not, Priscilla puts the same level of planning, execution, and detail into all her custom cakes. Party planners start the process by choosing from a slate of traditional and unorthodox flavors—such as red velvet, vanilla spice, s'mores, and orange—and fillings including lemon, mocha, or swiss chocolate. From there, the only limitation is the client's imagination. Priscilla sculpts premium ingredients into animal-print top hats, shoulder bags complete with edible buckles and zippers, and lobsters. Beyond the custom-made delights, Priscilla whips up small-scale treats—namely, cinnamon bun cookies and Oreo cake pops.

Rich cocoa browns and soft pastels lend a nostalgic feel at Nothing Bundt Cakes, where every day lava-powered ovens warm up batter made from fresh eggs, real butter, and cream cheese. Flavors such as chocolate chocolate chip, pecan praline, and white-chocolate raspberry remain constants on the menu, and a new flavor makes a guest appearance each month. Cakes can be prepared for any occasion—from birthdays to baby showers—and come in several sizes, from the standard 8- or 10-inch bundt to the single-serving bundtlet and the bite-size bundtini, all frosted with a signature blend of cream cheese and butter.

Each Nothing Bundt Cakes location also houses its own stock of gifts. Patrons may come across the brightly hued handle of a confetti cake knife or opt to take home an old-fashioned tin, perfect for stowing coffee and imprisoning gingerbread men who have tried to run away. Contact the location of your choice for gift pricing and availability.

Noi Reagan helms Noi Gifts & Gourmet, where she crafts delectable, gourmet goodies such as cakes, cookies, and confections. Eschewing preservatives, Noi instead makes all-natural, handmade desserts: creative recipes include peanut and pecan toffle, a sweet that meets at an intersection of toffee and brittle. She's more than happy to make custom cakes, decorating pillowy desserts with names and celebratory remarks. And in addition to decorated cookies for various holidays, she bakes a cast of cupcakes that rotates daily, and sends them out in 100% recycled packaging.
