Owner Mario Letayf

A post-graduation trip to Europe spurred Letayf's passion for restaurant ownership. After staying in Paris for two months, he was determined to learn how to craft the city's famous crepes. And once he did, he opened his own crepe shop in Monterrey, Mexico—the place where he'd soon open up three more restaurants and eventually team up with chef Antonio Marquez.

Not long after, Letayf decided to move to the U.S. He created Cinco Tacos Cocina & Tequila to give the Dallas community a truly authentic Mexican experience.

After earning culinary degrees and apprenticing in Paris, returned to his homeland Mexico, where he worked and developed menus for restaurants across the country. HE partnered up with Letayf in 2003. At Cinco Tacos Cocina & Tequila, he whips up modern Mexican dishes. And because he stays true to the authentic nature of the cuisine, he dishes out unique entrees that don't appear elsewhere, including his specialty ceviche plates.
