Melty Way, American Fork

The cooks at Melty Way spend their days perfecting a single classic dish in many iterations: the grilled cheese. Starting with fresh-baked bread from a local bakery, they layer their sandwiches with 13 different varieties of cheese, as well as savory meats and other toppings. They top bacon and fresh tomatoes with aged cheddar, pair roasted turkey and whole-cranberry sauce with whipped cream cheese, and finish off a classic reuben with a blend of gruyère and swiss cheese. They also make a straightforward bread-and-cheese combo with any of their cheeses. For dessert, they offer the sweet grilled cheese, combining whipped cream cheese and strawberry jam on cinnamon-swirl bread dusted with powdered sugar.
