Archers Artemis, Amesbury

Donna Ricci's path to archery was not necessarily as straight as an arrow. Her background? She was a music and history scholar at the University of Massachusetts before becoming a doctor in the field clinical psychology. From there, she embarked on a lifelong quest to simultaneously enrich and connect the mind, body, and spirit. And that's where archery came in.

Soon, she was a bronze medalist barebow archer at the USA Archery Nationals. In fact, it was at that competition that she decided to open her own range, not only to help others strengthen the mind-body connection, but to inspire more young girls and women to engage in the often male-dominated world of archery. • Barebow isn't the only style. Archers can also shoot recurve and longbow.
