About Chiang Mai Ultimate Thai Restaurant

At Chiang Mai Ultimate Thai Restaurant, it's all about finessing four fundamental flavors: hot, sour, sweet, and salty. When in balance, these elements forge the cooking styles common to Thailand and Southeast Asia––and to Chiang Mai Ultimate Thai Restaurant. The restaurant has recently revamped its lengthy menu, which is populated with a slew of curry, fried rice, and seafood dishes. Long, faux-marble tabletops on wooden legs bare steaming housemade soups, as well as morsels of fresh lamb, duck, and scallops over stir-fried noodles. After sopping up the last of a traditional curry entree, patrons can recline in a cozy velvet booth to enjoy homemade banana dumplings or build a log cabin out of chopsticks to avoid ever having to leave.

It seems a bit dark. The other dish that I had was average.

My only element to change would be to remove MSG from dishes as I even heard people talk about this. MSG, while it flavors food, isn't worth the damage that MSG causes to the body. A lot of restaurants have taken away MSG. They could benefit as a "healthy Asian restaurant" if they focused on this niche a little more.

The benches are a little low for the height of the tables. I felt like a child sitting there. Maybe build them up another 3 inches. :) However, the restaurant was beautiful. I'm thinking it must have been remodeled since my last visit.

My favorite dish is green curry with fresh tofu and veggies. I pretty much received a bowl full of bamboo shoots; the couple of pieces of egg plant I had were large chewy chunks which made it difficult to eat. We ordered fried spring rolls and they were just ok. We tried this place because it was on groupon and we will not be back; there are better Thai places in Anchorage to choose from.
