About Jimmy Potters Studio

Locally owned in Northern Virginia, Jimmy Potters Studio & Workshop offers a unique and inspirational environment were guests of all ages can explore their creativity and develop their self esteem. As a contemporary paint-your-own pottery studio, adults, children and the young are encouraged choose from a variety of bowls, figurines etc to paint. The space is the work of Jimmy Potters, a fine-arts student of ceramics who wanted to transform his dreams of driven potter and entrepreneur into a reality. He started out of his garage, partnering with a small daycare and introducing children to the tactile art. The program soon became a hit and Jimmy was able to expand to his current colorful studio and to surround himself with like-minded artists to help teach his curriculum.

My husband and I took the pottery wheel class together. It was a great experience. Shaping the clay focuses your attention and pushes everything else out of your mind. Very relaxing. The instructor was excellent, helpful and fun. Even first-timers can create a nice little bowl or vase. I highly recommend this experience!

I went in with an open mind, laughed the whole time I was there, surprised myself with how well my pottery turned out, and vowed that I would come back to do it all over again. My 8 year old daughter also loved it. I was wondering if it may have been a little advanced for her but Lizzy was awesome at giving her just enough guidance so she could do it herself. She killed it! Love this place. If you’re thinking pottery may not be for you.... you’re so wrong! Give it a go!
