Potomac Restaurant, Arlington

Not at all what we expected. Interesting menu, good beer list, and great hamburgers and sweet potato fries.

Food is always well prepared and presented. The staff is outstanding: friendly and accommodating.

Restaurant located in Sheraton Hotel off Columbia Pike about one mile from Pentagon. Parking not easily available nearby on street so it was 9.45 pm by time I arrived. The restaurant was closed by then but was offered seat at bar. Steak meal was good.

The restaurant is a located within the Sheraton Hotel so be aware that parking is limited and you might have to park in the underground garage of the hotel and take the elevator up to the lobby of the hotel. The hotel front desk will validate your parking if you have a receipt from Potomac restaurant. We went on a Friday night around 7:15pm on Dec 30, 2016 so the restaurant and bar was quite busy and only had 2 wait staff attending to the dining area, calls from hotel guests for room service, etc. but they were doing their best to keep up. The staff was still very friendly and the manager could later also be seen running food out of the kitchen, so they were trying to accommodate as best as possible. The menu had good variety from appetizers to salads, sandwiches, burgers, mains, and deserts. Calamari was a bit on the greasy side. Crab corn chowder was very tasty. The mahi mahi tacos were very good, but a little on the salty side perhaps from the crumbled cheese used for topping. Cheesecake desert was ok. Food presentation was very nice as well as the overall ambience as it is the main dining area of the hotel. Prices a bit on the high side, but the portions were decent and the groupon helped to defray costs. Overall, a pleasant experience.
