W Nails and Spa, Arlington

TL; DR - If you can avoid going here - please do!!! They have horrible policies and don't honor appointments. Also, their techs are rude and will just ignore you. If I could give them zero stars - I would - their only saving grace is Yolany, who was an amazing nail tech. When I first moved to this neighborhood - I was excited about the fact that there was a nail salon so close to my apartment. I went there a few times and stopped going. Recently, I decided to go again, however, I was quickly reminded of why I stopped going in the first place. The first time I decided to go back - W Nails had an online booking platform, but they also took appointments by phone. I made an appointment via the online booking platform and when I went at my appointment time - the staff said they had double booked someone because they made an appointment by phone. They would not honor my appointment and told me to email the owner Kristi. I was finally able to get an appointment for later that day and got a decent manicure, but it took FOREVER. A few weeks later - I saw they were offering a Groupon for manis and pedis. I decided to get the Groupon and booked an appointment to have both done (this time - I actually called and made the appointment and specified that I was booking with the Groupon), but lo and behold - when I got there, they were super busy and once again did not honor my appointment. Kristi then proceeded to tell me if I wanted to use the Groupon, then I had to call to make an appointment - I was pretty frustrated at this point since I DID call and make an appointment and whoever took my call didn't write it down. Regardless, she decided to do my nails herself and did a HORRIBLE job. The manicure chipped the next day and I had to go back and get it fixed and they all laughed when I told them that Kristi did my nails. On top of all of that - she did not have time to do my pedicure so she offered to do a quick polish change, which also chipped within 2 days. She told me that I could come back for my pedicure and that she would honor the Groupon (at the time, they had removed the Groupon and were only honoring it if you booked before a certain date). I expressed concern that they wouldn't honor it so she made the appointment in her book and wrote Groupon next to it. I went back to get my pedicure this past Monday and of course what happened when I got there - they told me they couldn't honor the Groupon (even though it was written in the appointment book and said Groupon on it - also pretty sure Groupon policy is that you have to at a minimum honor the value). I was pretty pissed and was fortunate that another client also spoke up about it. I told them they needed to call the owner because she herself made the appointment. They then asked ME to call the owner myself (which is kinda weird - if you're an employee and you have an unhappy customer - shouldn't you be calling the owner yourself? I found out later that Kristi apparently doesn't really care about this location and never responds to her employees so they told me to do it because she was more likely to respond..um what??!??!) and gave me her number - she of course did not answer the phone. I was pretty frustrated at this point as well - since of course - they were not honoring an appointment. None of the techs would even talk to me until finally (30 minutes later) someone approached me and told me that she would take my appointment and I was told that because they work on commission, all the other techs did not want to honor my appointment because of the Groupon and the fear that they wouldn't get paid. She asked me to send a text to Kristi explaining the situation, which I did and I also told her that this should have never happened in the first place considering it was just bad business. She finally responded to my text and said "Great! I just called to make sure they take your appointment." - The funny thing is - I asked if she called and nobody received a call from her so she actually didn't even bother following through. All in all, I likely won't go back here ever again (except MAYBE to see Yolany) - it is overpriced and the work is not quality. On top of that, the employees are rude and will ignore you. Further, the owner has grossly mismanaged her business and does not honor deals or agreements.

I called days before I came and they said they were out of the paraffin but would have it in the next day.(Thursday) I came in on Saturday and was told that they were still out. The person that took care of my pedicure was kinda poor. She set the water up then sat down on her phone I’m just sitting there then she said I was done to wait 10 min. and didn’t really help me with my shoes or anything.

Excellent service. Will be going back!
