About Crystal Joys

  1. What was the inspiration to start or run this business? Crystal Joys was started by the owner Carmen Sample's parents. They would travel from festival to festival selling rocks and jewelry out of a booth. Then Carmen decided to turn it into a brick and mortar shop in Longmont, eventually expanding to Fort Collins and Arvada!

  2. What do you love most about your job? We love that our business can provide meaningful employment opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Every handmade piece is made with love.

  3. What is the best reaction you've ever gotten from a customer? Customers love our mission. We think it gives our beautiful jewelry more meaning!

  4. What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition? We are a rock apothecary, gift, and jewelry shop. We offer home goods such as incense and crystal and gem stone decor. We also sell jewelry that is hand made by employees with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Not only are our goods beautiful and useful, but they provide meaningful employment opportunities for all.
