I think it's great they offered this 50% break on the mandatory NC state inspection. It helped mitigate the rising costs of maintaining a vehicle, and I was able to do it at the same time as my mandatory oil change/tire rotation. I get all those services at the dealership, not because they have great prices (they don't) but because they required it as part of their 100,000 mile "drive-train warranty" when you buy a car there. They also subtract the $7 rebate that Castrol provides for customers (who had come in for an oil change previously and is mailed to them for later use) as part of their "low" oil change price, but it is just the normal high price from which they have the nerve to subtract a third party rebate that you may or may not still have from. Shady "deals" like that and the warranty and other weaselly-worded fine print (all these gifts you get promised, unless you pay once cent below MSRP for your vehicle, then all that swag is taken back) instead of just honest prices and direct dealer or brand-provided coupons like they used to have make me leery of dealing with the dealership any more than I have to, but the employees in the service department seem to be pleasant and competent (I don't blame them for company policies.)

It was a poor experience all the way through. First I called to make an appointment and w3as told I didn't need an appointment. I showed up and was told I did need an appointment which I didn't have. I could tell the man I was dealing with was having a very busy day but I felt that I was treated with discourtesy and lack of respect.
