When a patient leaves the office there is no puffiness, however there are several factors that contribute to causing the filler to become puffy later, after it settles under the eye, such as very thin skin, slow or poor lymphatic drainage, and crying (filler can hold tears). undereyes is typically the more common place to see this happen, other areas do not puff up. I asked this patient to come back in and let me easily correct it with the small enzyme injection. Many people do not understand that regardless who injects a filler, the product can act funny in some cases on some people unpredictably, but it is easily corrected. All hyaluronic acid fillers such as juvaderm & restylane are fully dissolveable with an enzyme. Usually its only necessary to smooth a small portion if puffy, but not take it all out.
