On his way to becoming an 8th degree black belt, Steve Doss learned a lifetime's worth of knowledge about challenging the human body. The martial arts Grandmaster's countless sparring sessions and competitions still inform the workouts found at his gym, Impact Fitness. During kickboxing classes, students fight for their fitness goals using drills and strikes plucked from actual muay thai and MMA combat. These moves, when combined with kettle bell, rope, and sandbag work, torch body fat while contributing to lean, strong muscle. Impact also hosts traditional boot camps, where students test their endurance with high intensity interval training. In addition to designing the training regimens, Doss has surrounded himself with a team of trainers from diverse backgrounds—some train UFC fighters, others are All Navy boxers, and still others complement their physical training with an encyclopedic knowledge of nutrition and supplements.
