Hi Carrie, I am so sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your post-peel experience. The Jessner's Peel is a specific, uniform formulation that we have compounded by a pharmacy for us. One reason that we choose a Jessner's peel for new patients is because in addition to its safety, it is reliable and predictable in its results as well. If you have done chemical peel, other skin care treatments, and/or added a good daily skin care regimen, then your skin is in better condition. Your skin is healthier than before your first or even second peel experience. That is good news! Many patients incorrectly think that they will always see the same thick and extended sloughing that they experienced with their first few peels. Ideally you don't. Ideally your skin is in better condition and has a faster and healthier ( younger) cellular turnover rate and it is being exfoliated regularly with effective home skin care. Thus, it is normal, and a good indicator of healthier skin to see minimal sloughing and limited recovery period. The Jesnner's peel is still doing its magic, with its specialty ingredients aiding in long-term brightening and smoothing your skin's appearance. Having said that, we do often recommend a series of 3-6 chemical peels for patients that are initially seeking correction for specific skin conditions.
