don't go when it's busy, if you've never been there, so they can help you pick something

Try a flavoring if its your first time trying kava. The first taste isn't great but by the end if your first cup it is not as bad. I didn't try enough to get the calming effect advertised by friends but the bar is nice and a place I can myself again.

A little hard to find. Look for "Austin books and comics" and there should be a standing sign for them on the corner. Otherwise, very friendly and helpful. Nice environment as well.

Kava is even more delicious if you add a flavor! Great stuff and very knowledgable baristas!

Definitely "earthy" taste, but I highly recommend adding a flavor and drinking fast! The feeling is worth the flavor.

The Waka is the best tasting and most robust, in my opinion. Try a flavor if it's your first time.

An elixir of Pacific Islanders for thousands of years, kava root has been brewed and sipped for its soothing effects, which have been known to ease anxiety and insomnia, while producing a feeling of ease and relaxation. Those loyal to its charms, drink it as a safe alternative to alcohol, touting its abilities to liven moods without impairment. At SquareR?t Kava Bar, kava is prepared and served in the traditional way?out of coconut shells. Available in a variety of strains, the menu also features the option to add different flavors, and a short list of snacks to enjoy alongside ceremonial bowls.
