Lock 1 Distilling Company, Phoenix

Family-owned and operated, Lock 1 Distilling Company founded in 2015, became the first distillery to open in Oswego County after the end of prohibition. It is located at Lock 1 of the Oswego Canal, preferred by bootleggers when transporting illegal alcohol from Canada to NYC during prohibition in the 1920's. The three cousins who own Lock1 Distilling Company noticed the increase in interest towards craft alcohol and decided to combine their craftsmanship, ability, time, and finances to create an NYS Farm Distillery. In June 2017 they began producing Ryze Vodka, which has won several gold medals and awards. They continue with the goal of providing only locally-sourced ingredients and incorporating small batch handcrafted products to ensure their high quality. The tasting room and cocktail lounge were completed in June 2018 where they now serve New York State beers, wines, spirits, ciders, local products, food, and specialty craft cocktails.
