I had a number of complaints. First of all, I read on the website that her office was upstairs, and since I have difficulty with steps, I sent an email, texts and phone messages to try to determine whether I would be able to access her business. She never replied. (Incidentally, she has moved, and her office is now on the ground level.) Also, the address is Woodbourne-McCabe, but don't turn onto Woodbourne! Her place is at the corner of York Rd and McCabe! I got bad directions, and was 15 minutes late because I couldn't find my way back through 1 way streets and long lights. Why she bothers giving her phone number is beyond me, because she told me she doesn't answer her phone during the day. I was late, lost, and couldn't get in touch with her. When I arrived I was definitely not a happy camper.
Someone else mentioned the terrible parking situation. I second that! Also, I'm not afraid of being in the city, but while driving around the area I passed 3 or 4 people who looked drunk. Didn't make me feel so comfortable.
I had a foot massage, which was ok. I have had a few foot/ankle surgeries, so my feet really hurt. I get massages regularly to control my pain, so I am used to the drill. When you meet a new massage therapist, they are supposed to ask you about your medical situation, surgeries, pain, etc, and what you would like from the session. Keisha was business-like and got right down to the massage, but didn't ask me anything. She wasn't particularly warm to me, and barely spoke to me!
Had she asked me what I needed, I would have told her where I'd like her to use more pressure. I'm used to a more therapeutic, deep pressure massage. This was most definitely Swedish massage. I, personally, don't enjoy feeling like someone's tickling my feet, but I know that many people love it. If you are searching for a Swedish massage, and you don't particularly care about who the massage therapist is, and aren't afraid of the neighborhood, then this is a very inexpensive way to get a massage.
I am puzzled by all of her great reviews, but I, personally, would not recommend her to my friends.
