If you find yourself on the 9000 block of Florida Boulevard in Baton Rouge, you could stop at McDonald's for a meal. Or, you could head a block west and tuck into a stick-to-your ribs soul-food feast at N & Out Soul Food and Catering.
Cooks there fry up pork chops, chicken, and fish, smother turkey wings in gravy, and cook oxtail until it's fall-off-the-bone tender. They also make chitterlings, spiced pork intestines served with such sides as candied yams, collard greens, sweet peas, or corn muffins. For dessert, they send out peach cobbler and 7UP cake to tables.
If you prefer to enjoy soul food at your own home, perhaps during a small dinner party with friends, you can opt for N & Out's catered dishes.
