About Third Coast Surf Shop

As an extension of the Third Coast Surf Shop brand, Third Coast Paddling offers both stand-up paddleboard and kayak rentals available on a walk-in basis—no need for reservations. Both one- and two-person kayaks are available and feature a stable, sit-on-top style that's ideal for any age or skill level. All the necessary equipment is provided, including paddles and lifejackets, as trained staff members give groups orientations before they set off. My daughter and I visited the Benton Harbor location during the summer. The employees were very helpful. We had a great time kayaking and thought it was an good river to kayak on and enjoyed the beautiful scenery.

The St Joesph leg of the river is sort of boring, and hard to paddle upstream. It was really tiring. Maybe another river is a better choice. It took us an hour to go maybe 3/4 of a mile and our time was up to head back already. We only made it to the golf course.

Friendly and helpful crew. They showed us how to use the stand up boards and we were off. It was a beautiful river to go down. Would defenately do it again!

Tried to do some fall paddling, called and a message said they were open yet no one was there when we arrived. Happened on several occasions. Left voice messages with no response. Purchased two separate Groupons for this company, both are now expired.
