I’d like to offer up my side of this encounter in hopes that you will better understand why I felt it right to charge you for a retouch. You purchased a Groupon for a partial balayage. She insisted that she did not want blonde hair, so a warm light-brown was our goal. I even showed your daughter her hair’s raw lift post bleaching and, upon her request, toned it down so that it wouldn’t be too bright for her. You were a witness to this. Post appointment, you and your daughter both left pleased. I fully empathize with the fact that this can change, which is why I offer complimentary "redos" up to 5 days post-service. This is something you agreed to by signing my liability waiver. However, you did not reach out to me until day 9 (a week past the deadline). Upon hearing that you would indeed have to pay, you began accusing me of putting “obvious temporary dye” in your daughter’s hair and rigging my policy in order to “scam” people. Your daughter has waist-length hair that you want fully redone with a style. Given the circumstances, I felt it just to charge you for a retouch as you were: . Well past the redo cut off. . Happy with my work upon leaving the salon. . Wanting something lighter than agreed upon. The deposit you paid was to hold the slot for your original appointment. I explain to all my clients that it is returned at the end of the service. You told me to keep the deposit as a tip and have never requested it back. With that being said, I want to apologize if I was unable to deliver results that you were proud of. I hope that you see my intentions were to protect my business and its policies.
