About Soulful Bodyworks

Maria Barresi, the owner of Soul of the Earth Body Works, modeled her studio after the holistic retreats that populated the small mountain town she grew up in. She also took it upon herself to attain the many certificates a staff of such place would possess: Maria is a licensed massage therapist, aesthetician, Reiki master, and crystal healer.

Her treatments at Soul of the Earth include Swedish and raindrop-therapy massage and organic facials. She also offers spa packages that combine skincare, massage, and energy work into a single bundle that could balance the body's energy as well as a tightrope walker balances their checkbook.

The woman who runs this reiki shop is just absolutely miserable. I was SO disappointed with my reiki session and left feeling awful. If you don’t enjoy this work, you shouldn’t be doing it.

The massage was very relaxing she used oils that made my skin so smooth and the smells were so soothing. Awesome massage

Bad experience. There is no waiting room. She leaves you in a public hallway at the Cummings center while she’s inside ignoring you knocking on door. Small room and no room for her to move. Terrible odor, no systematic approach to a massage, and doesn’t ask questions as to clients’ needs. There’s a reason why she’s been on Groupon for years-can’t get repeat clients.

The oils smelt great. Other than that i was disappointed. She was not very friendly. The massage itself was very light. It didn’t feel bad but She did not work any muscle. More of just rubbing. After the massage she didn’t ask how it was. She just came off as unhappy. Not welcoming. I have never had a massage like this and don’t plan on going back.
