At Biddeford Saco Boot Camp, a soundtrack of crashing waves fuels morning workouts as campers pound out set after set of pushups, planks, and plyometrics while stationed on the beach. Stray sand kicks up as participants urge each other on through varying workouts, each of which combines strength training with aerobic challenges. Founder Amber Bell enhances this sense of camaraderie during each day's workout by injecting a physical challenge or a game to keep classes fun. After a cooldown and stretch, classmates can take off their sneakers to dip their toes in the water or take turns caber tossing the nearest lighthouse.
