About Gem

GEM Italian Kitchen Nightclub & Lounge serves authentic Italian cuisine amidst an elegant, art-deco-style dining room—tasseled wall sconces illuminate exposed brick walls and button-back booths lined with red velvet. Hop on an upholstered chair and savor rich plates such as the ricotta tortellini. Executive chef Kevin Long also crafts grass-fed-beef burgers served with Tuscan fries and seared Chilean sea bass. After dark, flashing lights illuminate the club area, and night owls can order bottle service and dance to the beats of live DJ music or the kitchen staff banging pots and pans.

Like most club operators, those who run Gem see food as a necessary adjunct service, but are not really interested in food or find dining - and this is reflected in their conventional, mostly unimaginitive, mediocre "Italian-American" menu. Consistently good food requires the development of a knowledgeable clientele and a commitment from the ownership and the kitchen which is unlikely to occur under this management.

GEM was a very nice surprise. The dining room is cozy and intimate. Food was very good as well.

After 9pm it gets very loud and lively. If you're going for dinner and want to be able to carry a conversation plan to sit on the dining area side. The food was great, especially for a place that is half nightclub. Not a place to take your parents, the waitresses wear push-up bustiers and the DJ blasts Top 40.
