Pink Tea Cup, Brooklyn

Let me begin by saying, I have never written a negative review for any establishment, however the customer service was disappointing, the service was lacking and the chicken and waffles gave my spouse food poisoning. We have dined at the Pink Tea Cups Village location and haven't had an issue, so when the Brooklyn location offered a groupon, we decided to give to give it a try. Unfortunately we had to wait 20 minutes while the waiter and manager had to confirm and then redeem the voucher. While we waited, the only other customers in the restaurant on a Saturday evening, who were seated beside us perused the menu, placed their orders and were in the midst of consuming their meal when the staff finally came back with our iPhone indicating the groupon was accepted and redeemed. Although the groupon was specifically for chicken and waffles-they staff shared they only offered dark meat chicken. The waiter and manager were adamant about not offering any substitutions. According to them, white meat chicken hasn't been on the menu for two years. Although on the menu it states there is an additional charge for white meat substitutions. The manager suggested we purchase a meal off the menu at full price and take the second chicken and waffle dinner home. Eventually after going back and forth the manager said she'd attempt to call her managers and see if something could be done. She returned to the table and said they would substitute my chicken for catfish. When my order arrived, they were the 2 smallest and slimiest pieces of catfish I've ever seen. The voucher also offered either 2 mojitos or 2 sangrias, I ordered a mojito, my spouse, who doesn't consume alcohol ordered a tea and a strawberry lemonade. When the bill arrived they charged him for the strawberry lemonade, which was more expensive than the tea. Petty, but worth mentioning. To make matters worse, my spouse suffered food poisoning and was ill the entire next day.

Great place and atmosphere. Chicken and waffles are DELICIOUS!! Hope uou have a great experience like I did...Enjoy!

I tried to make a reservation during the groupon window but was told that they were full for two months, but that the manager would honor my groupon when I made a rez. This was not the case and I ended up paying more for brunch than the groupon cost!
