Pettit Creek Farm is a lot of fun for a fall date! Corn maze, petting zoo, camel riding, and a hay ride!

My first visit this evening. Not impressed. I arrived just as the Farm was opening for the evening. Staff was not posted at any of the activities upon arrival. The "petting zoo" is a very small enclosed fence with goats, sheep, alpacas and piglets. You can touch & feed them from outside the fence. The two inflated bounce houses were filthy, as were the restrooms. There was a pony ride and a bungee jump that cost extra. The hayride was the highlight of the trip. A fairly long ride with lots of holiday lights to see. A stop near the end to feed camels. The driver was very pleasant.

Wear shoes that you won't care if they get dirty. Best for children 10 and under. My 12 year olds were a bit bored. Great friendly staff.

Waited on the hayride for 30 minutes because the driver was not there. When we complained they said they couldn't and wouldn't do anything.

It's nothing spectacular. Needs a lot of updating. But for little kids (under 8) it's not bad. However be prepared to pay for all of the extras like the bounce houses, pony rides, feeding at the pet zoo, and feeing on the hay ride. Those add an additional $12 to the cost of admission.

This was such a old fashion Christmas outing. Our favorite part was the hay ride, feeding the camels and other animals and toasting marshmallows.

From Our Editors

At first glance, Pettit Creek Farms looks much the same as other farms. Cows moo and goats bleat from the barnyard, while wagons full of hay and passengers trundle along. But then someone rides by on a camel. A zebra cranes its striped neck over a fence, searching for handfuls of oats, and KatieBird the emu ruffles her feathers at passersby.

It's around the holidays that this unusual farm becomes its most active. In the fall, as the temperature drops and the pumpkin patch ripens, visitors can be seen perusing the squashes and heard trying to navigate the winding corn maze. And, come winter, the farm fires up thousands of Christmas lights, creating a mile-long wonderland for visitors to drive through.
