About Chasin' Tails

True to the New Orleans traditions of giant crawfish boils—where the water is seasoned and the crawfish are plentiful—generous piles of the tiny crustaceans are poured straight onto the tabletop at Chasin' Tails Cajun Seafood & Bar. Eating with your hands isn't just allowed, it's encouraged. On the menu, crawfish share the spotlight with a variety of shellfish and other marine life—all served in heaps with corn and potatoes—including snow-crab legs, king crab legs, and shrimp. Each of these is prepared in the original Cajun-style or with their signature Oh Dang sauce for an optimal seafood dining experience.

The restaurant has been established by a former professional poker player, who has loved the traditions of Southern hospitality and cooking since childhood. He wanted to recreate the backyard boil feel he grew up with and so today the eatery serves up authentic Cajun seafood in a friendly Southern-style atmosphere.

Chasin Tails has changed the entire menu and scaled it down. The fried items are now in a tempura batter, the sauces are not as tasty. You have to order your sides separately. No more Whole Dang Thing, now it is under appetizers and does not look or taste the same. Sometimes you cannot re-invent certain things without asking your customers because this menu is not an improvement.

Food is tasty but over priced and charged 20 percent extra up front.

While it was surprising to see all of the changes since our last visit, I'd have to say they are still very good overall. The staff is phenomenal as usual. The owners are leaning towards a more upscale ambiance and experience, and it shows in the changes they've made. No more boil bags, no buckets on the tables, etc. If you're looking for good seafood with a plated experience, this is the place.
