QuiescentCare Acupuncture's Michele Etheridge worked as a registered nurse for 30 years before making the move into Oriental medicine. For her, it wasn’t necessarily an about-face. Her experience in Western medicine enhances her practice in Oriental medicine, giving her a deep bench of techniques to draw from when she's faced with clients with a wide range of conditions.

Her services center around the benefits of acupuncture, during which she uses hair-thin needles to improve the flow of the body's energy. When blocked, this energy can cause an illness to worsen or stress can to turn into fatigue. Depending on placement of the needles, she aims to help clients overcome everything from joint pain and digestive issues to weight problems and addiction to smoking. She also helps clients manage pain in an infrared sauna that also works to purge the body of toxins.
