Higher priced entrees were o.k. Not the quality for the price charged. We had the crab cakes and sirloin. Crab cakes had o.k. flavor not he best, good remoulade sauce. Sirloin was undercooked and was suppposed to be served w/ portabello mushrooms i found 2 small pieces.Suggest refreshing tired long time menu.Do not try to be 131 main.Blakney needs a good mid level casual restaurant. Good service and clean. Womens room was out of towels.

Always liked Encore, however, bad experience yesterday. Noone at hostess stand upon lunch arrival. Food took forever then server divulged that Encore was closing in 2 weeks. Lunch took about an hour and a half. Glad I got to use my Groupon as it will be no good soon!

Tim is a fantastic chef, very special to have him personally bring out our food and talk briefly. I think my wife could help Encore if there is any interest. a Thanksgiving Day meal would have been a really big plus and we were told you would be open, waited to make reservations (while other choices booked out) then were told just this past weekend (less than 2 weeks before turkey day) you are now closed (in which part of the staff still said you were open and part said closed). We had a beef grilled with mash potato and asparagus for $22.00. Meet was probably defrost and in very poor quality, asparagus very thin and dried out by hardly to say boiled or grilled. I am usually not demanding, but this was below even my modest standards. Everything tested like someone not very handy rushing to serve the dinner before some famous show :) And they do not serve variation of coffee, deserts are also very poor. For being called bistro (French and Russian) you should know how to cook or low prices to fast food. The only thing was our waiter, he was behind to serve all of his clients, but magically coming back on time and prompt with all our request. That was A+. :)

Aimee King's career in hospitality began at a country club, where she manned the beverage cart. Now that she's ascended the ranks, from dining-room manager to owner of Encore Bistro and Bar, she's turned over beverage responsibilities to an unlikely source: her diners.

Every Monday at Encore, she invites one customer to bartend for the night in order to raise money for a charity of their choice and to test out their theory that regular umbrellas would work just as well in a drink. Aimee's trusted team handles drinks the rest of the week, pouring wines and beers and mixing dessert cocktails such as the Frozini, a blend of vodka and a dessert zinfandel with a chocolate rim.

The beverages complement the culinary team's unusual take on classic American dishes. Granny smith apples and walnuts top dinnertime pizzas, and apricot glazes coat bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers.

Feasts unfold at the hardwood bar, which is surrounded by flat-screen TVs, or on Encore's outdoor patio, which overlooks fountains and trees. They also take place inside Encore's private room, which is decorated with abstract art, including paintings of red, yellow, orange, and green splashes of color that represent the duality of man.
