You should have received a Post-Care treatment sheet for your IPL service from your provider. I have broken down how your post care treatment can interfere with the Microcurrent facial and cause more harm than can be beneficial for you. I cancelled the appointment as I did not want to risk causing more harm to your skin during its delicate stage in healing. Any type of treatment directly after an IPL could interfere with the results as well as cause a bad reaction and is not advised within 48 hours of your IPL appointment. During my Microcurrent Treatment, hot towels are used which are not recommended for at least 48 hours after an IPL treatment. For best results with a microcurrent facials, hot towels and rigorous movements are highly recommended to stimulate the collagen and elastic production as well as circulation. This can cause infection to the treated areas with the IPL as skin can be removed during cleansing and the mask removal process of the Microcurrent Treatment. I strive to do just one thing; which is protecting the integrity of each individual’s skin and its best interest. I did exactly this – I felt it was in this patient’s best interest not to have her scheduled service due to her choosing to book and receiving an IPL treatment at another spa the day before our pre-scheduled micro-current facial, as it could have serious ramifications.
