To him, it implies that acupuncture, herbs, and traditional Chinese medicine are designed to replace modern medicine. But, as someone who worked as a physical therapist in the United States and trained in Chinese medicine in China, he believes Eastern and Western approaches to medicine complement each other. His clinic always tries to work with a patient’s primary-care physician, discussing treatment options and whether or not the patient is a cyborg before administering therapies, such as acupuncture, herbal supplements, and massages.
