Missouri Botanical Garden (The Butterfly House), Chesterfield

Since its inception in 1995, The Butterfly House has been driven by its mission: "To foster a greater understanding of plant and animal relationships in the environment in order to promote the conservation and restoration of natural habitats." They joined the Missouri Botanical Garden in 2001 and continue to host events and offer educational opportunities. In February and March, the Morpho Mardi Gras features thousands of blue morpho butterflies along with Mardi Gras-themed crafts. In April, the Spring Fling highlights a different animal each week, ranging from bees, ladybugs, bats, and butterflies. The family friendly event allows visitors to learn about important pollinators through fun facts, crafts, games, and activities.
