About Angelina Ristorante
Angelina Ristorante opened its doors in 1988 as a culinary homage to cofounder Nunzio Fresta's Italian grandmother. Within its colorful, chandelier-illuminated interior, executive chef Fred Ramos employs experience at top-notch Chicago eateries such as Room21 and Gioco to devise trattoria-style dishes draped in zesty sauces and seasonal ingredients. Choice cuts of duck breast, veal, and beef shoulder mingle with sides of creamy polenta or whipped potatoes, and homemade morsels of gnocchi and ravioli are rolled by hand before being draped in cheese- and wine-based sauces.

The service was fine, but the quality and quality quantity of the food was disappointing. For years I've ordered the Caprese Salad. The tomato slices were large and tasty, the Buffalo mozzarella slices were generous and basil leaves were the garnish. Thus time the tomatoes were small with little flavor. They used tiny mozzarella balls and sprinkled a little chopped basil over the top.

As we are now in a great surge of Covid, the only option for dinner was take-out. Philip, the Manager, was so helpful and accommodating with the use of the Groupon. The take-out menu was different than the online menu. He read us the entire menu and we ordered with him. There were 4 of us and we each ordered something different. Everything was delicious. My only suggestion is that the online take-out menu needs to be updated, so that the manager or staff do not have to read the menu at each phone call. Everything was hot and ready at our selected pick-up time. Thanks. We enjoyed.
