for me the interior of the restaurant dont look nice, even for me who is Chinese, these kind of foods have a very strong taste, it does not go well with the neighborhood of Lincoln Park, I was the only customer that day during dinner time.

A quiet place with friendly staff. Food wise it isn't my fave hotpot spot, but it's very continently placed for city life. Worth checking out.

The hot pot broth I ordered was relatively tasteless until I developed my own concoction from the dozen various asian sauces offered on a nearby table. The chicken I had was a slender plate of small rolls of paper-thin (deli-like)shavings. I`m guessing the parsimonious delivery was for ease of rapid cooking--or not, as it left me feeling unsatisfied. The black mushrooms and baby bok choy were decent, as were the vermicelli noodles. For the intrepid there are some interesting offerings to plunge into your individual cauldren, like tripe or pork brain (think Raiders of the Lost Ark...). The rear of the restaurant has a small sound stage and lighting set-up, complete with disco ball and an assortment of instruments. These were idle, as we were there for lunch. However, the idea of people dancing around numerous tables that are suporting several boiling pots of soup merely inches from seated guests` laps is just too comically imponderable. Then again, bad kareoke has been known to cause accidents too!

From Our Editors

At Two Birds One Stone, diners get to try their hand at being a chef. Upon sitting down at the Chinese-hot-pot joint, the staff presents guests with everything they need to create a meal: ornate metal pots filled with steamy broths and plates of thinly sliced meats, fresh vegetables, and plump dumplings. As the pots simmer away, guests pop their ingredients into the broths, cooking them to the ideal level of tenderness. Then, after a dunk in dipping sauce—or not, to savor the broth's flavor—their meal is ready.

Their creations might vary from sliced pork with baby bok choy to shrimp with spinach to tofu, broccoli, and cauliflower. And newcomers need not fear—Two Birds One Stone's waitstaff happily lends expertise throughout the experience.
