Darkside Haunted Estates was the must scary/fun haunted trail that we have been on. We didn't get to go on the Zoobie Hayride because of the weather conditions but plan on going back for that. Well worth the money.

We had a blast. My husband and I along with our 8 and 10 year old daughters had so much fun. It took about 45 minutes to get thru the trail. If it's rainy wear boots as it can get muddy.

The only downside is they will separate you if you don't have a group of six!

Stay calm in the black hole, and if you are closterphobic this is not the haunted house for you!!! Otherwise, a great haunted experience!

Definitely get there early for the Haunted Hayride. The website says their hours are 7-11, with the ticket booth opening at 6:30. We got there around 6:45-ish, waited for the ticket booth to start doing things, and promptly got in line. We were within the first 20 people in line, and weren't admitted until after 8:00. Personally, I was expecting more from it, but it was still a good time and I'm sure things will continue to improve. I heard they acquired an additional hayride vehicle, and they'll learn as they go along. This is their first year with the hayride attraction. Side note: We saw the "monsters" hitting and shaking the port-a-potty while it was occupied. Just a heads up.

Don't go unless you plan on standing 2 1/2 hrs in line. Staff was not prepared to handle a crowd, short on equipment (hayride broke down) causing long delays and they didn't seem to care customers where there all night in line.

From Our Editors

Shrouded in groves of leafless trees, Darkside Haunted Estates looms ominously. Dilapidated black shutters hang from the two-story house's white, weather-beaten siding, and behind its black door, nightmares have stirred to life for more than two decades. Throughout its eerie grounds, the staff has installed dynamic special effects on a collection of attractions that has ballooned to more than a dozen, including a quarter-mile haunted trail and a backwoods zombie hayride. During the hayride, passengers wind through haunted trails, armed with 75 paintballs to shoot the undead. Unsettling sites tell the estate's sordid story through the Darkside Mortuary, Rottenkorr Cemetery, and The Manor. They?ve also installed a "Fame of Shame" board, which keeps track of visitors who bail early and of monsters who faint at the sight of their own fake blood.
