Although photographer Ashley Addison can set up studio shots with the eye of an artist and the skill of a cinematographer, her artistry really shines under natural light. Maybe it’s the way natural light has no script—like many of life’s memorable moments—but instead illuminates timeless images almost by accident. During outdoor, on-location shoots, she employs this sensibility—along with 10 years of experience—to chronicle infants’ first months in the world, engagements, and family gatherings.
