Besides buying the tickets, parking was an additional $10. Food was ok, but overpriced, and although the craft vendors had lovely things, I wouldn't pay admission to go shopping at a craft fair. It was small and disappointing, and we were ready to leave in an hour. Save your money and don't bother with this.

I believe that this is the first year of the Mardi Gras Festival. It definitely has potential! There were some very strong points and then some not so much. Parking was a breeze however there was a charge. This was unexpected but not a problem. The distance from parking to the entrance was very reasonable. We prepaid for VIP tickets which included a meal, beads, mask and what we thought was reserved seating for the parade. It was well worth the VIP price! We enjoyed our meal (served in a styrofoam to-go box), the skyline while the sun set, and incredible tropical vibes played live. If we left at that point, it would have been worth it.
Recommendations: VIP passes should be distrbuted as a goodie bag of sorts ... I believe the new term is Swag Bag. The beads, the mask, food/drink tickets and directions as to where to sit and times for the parade should be included. Perhaps bleacher seating along the parade route could be offered for those VIPs who don't want to jump and dive for beads.. Bleacher seating would have been invaluable by the acrobatics area as with the exception of the first row or two, there was no way to see the talent as the stage was not much higher than ground level. SIGNAGE SIGNAGE SIGNAGE ... there was none other than the signs hanging on the vendors' food trucks or the banner hanging over the main stage. At the very least, arrows pointing to the bathroom and scheduled events/shows would be very, very helpful.
Get a Groupon VIP pass and go to this Mardi Gras celebration. It was an inexpensive night out, and given that this was the first year, it can only get better. You get what you pay for, and VIP passes were well worth it and the only way to go!
