This was my first exposure to tubing in Columbia. I didn't eve know it was an option. We had to wait 30 minutes for tubes because they ran out, but overall the experience was wonderful and I would definitely go again.

Although the products are good and most of the staff are quite helpful, our blonde guide/safety instructress was not very professional which bothered a number of our group who felt she was talking down to us.

I thought there would be a guide, but there wasn't. Even so, we had a lot of fun!

We had a tour guide. He was wonderful, very interested in the historical aspects of the area and knowledgeable and personable and excellent at relaying the information. The walk itself is beautiful and easy to navigate---it takes about 90 minutes and is all on a paved surface. The group was small enough that we could all keep up and take part in the conversations.

From Our Editors

Palmetto Outdoor Center promotes the preservation of natural rivers and forests. Because awareness is the best way to maintain the environment and cultural heritage, Palmetto spreads knowledge of local gems with river trips and walking tours. These organized tours and vessels for rent allow amateur explorers to discover South Carolina's uncluttered riverbanks while learning about how they can be protected. Civil War walking tours illuminate the history of the region, and canoe and kayak rentals plunge into the tree-lined waterways of the Congaree, which flows through protected national parkland with the continent's largest old-growth floodplain forest.
