About COSI - Center of Science and Industry
Since 1964, the Center of Science and Industry has inspired more than 33 million people—from future scientists to modern dreamers. And by appearances it seems that time has served COSI well. In recent years it has not only reopened the Planetarium, but earned Parent magazine's title of Top Science Center for Families. Read on to learn what makes this center so special.
- The Building: This 320,000-square-foot testament to the Scientific Method was designed by internally renowned architect Arata Isozaki.
- Eye Catcher: Secrets of the Sun—a show at the new digital 60-foot dome planetarium, reveals the latest information about our sun, as discovered by NASA’s solar observatory missions
- Exciting Exhibitions: Gadgets, an exhibit full of high-tech industrial robots, hands-on experimentation, and a chance to take apart old machines and computers
- Don't Miss your chance to be a daredevil—COSI's High Wire Unicycle beckons guests to ride across an 84-foot cable while balancing more than 17 feet above the ground. Fear not, though, there's a hefty 250-pound counterweight to keep you upright.

I have wanted to visit Columbus COSI for a very long time and was really excited to take my almost 16 year old son. Imagine my dismay to discover that 90% of the hands-on exhibits don't work! There was 1 exhibit, called Progress, that was truly great, and there were multiple signs in that area that indicated it will be removed soon to be replaced by a "History of COSI" exhibit. I'm sad to say that I think COSI is going to be history if they don't tend to their exhibits!

It was very educational and enjoyable! From interesting scientific details regarding humans to exhibits featuring technology of the past, it exceeded my expectations. I'm looking forward to making another visit in 2017!

Besides the fact that Columbus Central High School - the current location of COSI - was my husband's high school, which made it even more interesting, we - an all adult family of five - found COSI to be most enjoyable. We traveled there from Lorain and wish we had allowed time to see more of the attractions, but we had an extremely fun day together. We are particularly glad that we got to enjoy Adventure, which will soon be gone. Since there is now an additional charge for some of the attractions, purchasing our tickets through Groupon at a substantial savings made it even better! We will watch for such deals again in the future. Thank you, Groupon!
