This is not your typical soul food restaurant. New Harvest Cafe is in the heart of Linden, tucked away on a side street just off Cleveland Ave. The food is very good and healthy, too. Definitely not a greasy spoon. Saturdays are buffet only but they insisted on honoring my groupon. Be sure to arrive early in the day as popular items do run out. The café, also, serves as art gallery, bookstore, theater and live music/performance stage. There's an urban garden and agricultural program, home to the 4H Linden Youth Leadership Project. This establishment is clean and the people are friendly. I can hardly wait to sample the entertainment. I'm impressed!

Interesting place with the stage and performances. We were not able to view the performance, but it seemed like a good idea. Owner (Kodwo) was very welcoming and accommodating. In terms of the food : most items in the buffet were good. Some were great: fried catfish, couple of the wings, cabbage, white beans. Some could use improvements: pork & beans, mac n cheese, green beans, the rolls. I would certainly go back there, but maybe spend a bit more time with the food and entertainment. Would advise others to also take their time.
